About Me

Elise Sullivan is an associate producer at Hill.TV, the television of The Hill, for the daily morning political news show, Rising. At Hill.TV, Elise has assisted in digital news coverage of major news events, including the 2024 political primary caucuses, 2023 Israel-Hamas War, 2022 midterm elections, COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 United States Presidential Election, and Black Lives Matter movement.

Elise graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communication in The School of Media and Public Affairs (SMPA), and minored in History in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (Class of 2022).

She holds a strong passion for storytelling through a variety of mediums, including broadcast and television news production, video production, and writing.

Elise gained meaningful journalism and news production experience at GW-TV, The George Washington University student-run television station. She held the position of Director of Productions for the entire television station. In this role, Elise oversaw the production of in-studio shoots, and assisted with the operation of the teleprompter, audio booth, and camera equipment. She was also a news package producer for GW-TV’s news show, GWeek, from February 2020 to May 2022. Gweek is dedicated to bringing students critical university and global news. For GWeek, Elise’s responsibilities included producing news packages, which consists of editing B-roll, voiceover audio, interviews, and images through Adobe Premiere Pro. She also conducted topic research and interviews, wrte scripts, designed graphics, and gathered relevant imagery. GWeek episodes are produced and broadcasted to the GWU student body every week through the GW-TV website, as well as various social media sites including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Throughout her time at GW, Elise advanced her filming, video editing, audio/visual production, and storyboarding skills through multiple projects. In her senior multi-media production capstone in SMPA, Elise produced a social justice podcast, a political documentary video, and a news package focusing on an environmental issue impacting vulnerable populations in Washington, D.C.

For her video production course in The School of Media and Public Affairs at GW, she researched, storyboarded, filmed, and edited a profile piece and miniature documentary using Panasonic Cameras, professional tripods and microphones, and Adobe Premiere Pro. As a part of the class, Web Production and Social Media, Elise filmed and edited an info text video about the environmental issue of overpopulation using Adobe Premiere Pro, generated a social media campaign for the non-profit organization, #HappyPeriod, through Adobe Spark, and created a political, digital infographic regarding Planned Parenthood Funding utilizing Adobe Illustrator & Canva.
